About Yolanda

Hi! I’m Yolanda, a certified Gyrokinesis and GYROTONIC trainer with over 15 years of teaching experience and more than 25 years of personal practice. As a former professional dancer, I discovered this method while recovering from chronic pain and multiple injuries—and it completely changed my life. Inspired by yoga, Tai Chi, dance, and swimming, Gyrokinesis is an intelligent movement method that improves posture, builds deep core strength, increases mobility and flexibility, relieves tension, and creates a long, lean, balanced body. Through rhythmic, circular movements and intentional breathing, it also helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and leave you feeling energized and refreshed. Whether you're an athlete, recovering from an injury, spending long hours at a desk, or simply looking to move and feel better in your body, this method can meet you where you are. Widely recognized for its benefits to the spine, joints, and overall well-being, it is recommended by many doctors and osteopaths across Europe as part of a healthy movement practice. Together, we'll create a personalized practice based on your goals—whether you're looking to relieve pain, improve posture, increase strength and mobility, enhance athletic performance, or simply feel stronger, more balanced, and more at home in your body.   • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

    I started dancing when I was 7 years old, and for me, dance was not just art but also a way to connect with movement, discipline, and body awareness. Those first years shaped my understanding of how the body works and gave me the foundation for everything I do today.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

    At a high level, dance has always been my main discipline. I also practice Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic every week, which I consider both my passion and my profession. As a hobby, I enjoy cycling and hiking outdoors. A sport I’d love to explore more is surfing—I find the connection between balance, nature, and movement fascinating.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

    My motivation comes from the way movement transforms not only the body but also the mind and emotions. Seeing how a single session can bring energy, balance, and clarity—both to me and to the people I train—keeps me passionate about my practice.
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

    I’m proud of having transitioned from a professional dance career to becoming a certified Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic trainer. It feels like a natural evolution of my journey with movement, and I’m especially proud to guide others in discovering the same benefits.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

    As a dancer, I faced the challenges of discipline, injuries, and constant self-improvement. These experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of listening to the body. They made me not only stronger physically but also more empathetic as a trainer.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

    I’d choose Simone Biles. I’d love to ask her how she balances the pressure of high performance with mental health, and how she stays motivated after achieving so much at such a young age.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

    I help people stay motivated by making movement enjoyable and accessible. I remind them to celebrate small progress, and I always connect the work we do to how they feel—more energized, more aligned, and more connected to their bodies. When people experience that transformation, motivation comes naturally.
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

    What makes me a Superprof is my unique combination of artistry and science: a strong background as a professional dancer, paired with certification and years of experience as a Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic trainer. I know how to guide people at any level to discover joy in movement, improve posture, prevent injury, and unlock their full potential.
