Super Tutor

Stephen is one of our best ESL tutors. High-quality profile, qualifications verified, organised and responsive to lesson requests, and appreciated by their students.

About Stephen

I am 35 years old, and I love to teach. For anyone learning a second language, it can be a difficult and frustrating journey. I teach for those special moments where the student grows confidence and feels momentum in their improvement.

About the lesson

I am an experienced English language teacher currently only available for online lessons. I have taught extensively in English language schools in the Republic of Ireland. My lessons are tailored to the English language goals of the student. - My typical lessons focus on conversational English with correction regarding tenses, pronunciation, or opportunities to use more engaging language. - As an experienced teacher, I can teach tenses, vocabulary, provide listening exercises or conversation practice, or any other activity the student requests. - My lessons are well suited from pre-intermediate to advanced level, but all students are welcome! - I am formerly a legal professional with a decade of business experience and I am available for business English lessons too. Useful topics for business English include business vocabulary / workplace idioms / indirect speech. - I also can assist with IELTS English preparation classes.

Perfect! My tutor is very kind and attentive. He really knows how to teach, he prepares each lesson thoroughly and always tries to understand what I need. He adapts his teaching style to suit me, which really helps me learn better. He’s patient, explains things clearly, and creates a comfortable environment where I feel confident asking questions. Perfect! Stephen is a friendly and flexible teacher, allowing me to work quickly on the topics that interest me. His methodology is based on direct conversation, which is what was missing from my solo learning. He gives me lots of practical advice to improve my oral expression, which has allowed me to acquire more concrete and idiomatic English.

I highly recommend him!

Hugo is a pleasure to teach. He is thoughtful and engaging to speak to, and ask questions that show he is genuinely interested in improving. Outside of class he just needs to interact with people in dublin more to complement his hard work during class!

Perfect! Stefan is a very nice person and a good teacher. Classes with him are easy, comfortable and, of course, useful.
I liked that he carefully prepares for the class, as well as the fact that he tried to adapt the lesson to my interests and needs. It is very convenient. By maintaining a light and unobtrusive conversation, Stefan can simultaneously notice which mistakes I make, which rules I confuse, and which points I need to improve.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised by how carefully he writes feedback after the lesson. It is extremely convenient and useful. I am grateful to Stefan for his help and highly recommend him as a teacher!

Stephen's response
Lana has attained a good level of fluency, so that conversational comfortably flows between us. She also exhibits a curiousity, for new words and expressions that has clearly inspired that fluency. I have sent her detailed feedback via the superprof messaging system.

Hello! I have been learning English with Stephen for more than 2 years now. His professionalism, patience, and positive mindset are the very characteristics that make him stand out not only as a dedicated language teacher but a pleasant personality. Over the course of learning English with Stephen, I have noticed significant improvements in my both Speaking and Writing skills. I attribute this progress to formative feedback, which I regularly receive from Stephen. Apart from that, he makes a point to develop our lessons in ways that speak to my learning goals and personal interests. For example, in one of the speaking lessons we had, Stephen had planned a quiz on my favorite show Friends. Overall, Stephen is a dedicated professional who knows how to personalize teaching materials to meet your unique learning needs and make lessons more engaging.

My previous classes with Stephen were a great experience. He’s very eloquent and patient. He listens and kindly points out corrections and better ways to talk more naturally. He also gave me tips for extra ‘study’ material where I could find local expressions and more. I improved so much since my first class. I would say he makes the learning experience light and easy.
