About Manon

Hailing from Provence, French soprano Manon Gleizes graduated from the Lyon Conservatoire, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (BA with Hons), Le Pôle Lyrique d'Excellence and the Sibelius Academy (MA in Opera). She was a 2021-2022 artist at the Mascarade Opera Studio in Florence. Known for her versatile energy and vocal skills, Manon has sung Helmwige in Die Walküre at the Eurajoki Festival; Norma in Norma and Nedda in Pagliacci at Teatro la Fenice; Madame Lidoine in Le Dialogue des Carmélites at the ATM Studio; Angelica in Suor Angelica, Lady Billows in Albert Herring, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at the Sibelius Academy; Nedda in Pagliacci, and La Baronne in La vie parisienne at the Bazoches Festival. Her upcoming engagements include some excerpts of Tannhauser (Elisabeth) in French for the 40th anniversary of the Wagner society in Lyon. On the concert stage, she has performed excerpts from Madama Butterfly (Cio-Cio-San) at the MOS studio, Fidelio (Leonora) at the Bordeaux Auditorium, Norma (Norma) with the Sinfonia Lahti, various scenes from Ariadne auf Naxos (Ariadne), and Die Tote Stadt (Lucienne) at the Sibelius Academy, Thaïs (Thaïs) at the Suruton Festival Savonlinna, and La Traviata (Violetta) in the Lyon Opera House Auditorium. Her performances with orchestras have included singing with the Cannes Symphony Orchestra, the Lilly Orchestra, and a tour with the SASO Orchestra for a tour in Finland. She was awarded the first prize at the Les Clefs d’Or Competition in 2018, the third prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Junior competition in 2016 and is a current finalist of the international Veronica Dunne competition. Her eclectic taste in music leads her to tackle some Chamber music repertoire. Member of the Camelia Duo with the harpist Raphaëlle Villa, they specialised in the 20th Century English & American Art Song repertoire. She works closely with composer Justin Grize with whom she shares some real interest in Avant-Garde and Contemporary music. They created a series of miniatures collection together named Rêves. About the lesson

I spent the past 12 years training and working internationally. I gained experience and knowledge throughout time and with living in different countries (UK/FR/FI/IT). I base my singing pedagogy on what the singer has to offer physically, with his/her background, body approach, breathing capacities and artistry. I then follow the Bel Canto singing technique. I teach in English, French and Italian. I have taught many different types of students of all ages. the younger being 7 years old and the oldest 65. I can train singers for examination entries and competitions up to a University level and above. I work on speech therapy as well as I work on voice, body and breathing placement. Excellent! Manon is a lovely and very professional music-singing teacher.
She made sure we would be comfortable working together from the very beginning. She explained, answered my question and was attentive to my expectation and goals.
Also she was flexible to my changing schedule which was very appreciated.
