About Shea
My name is Shea, and I have worked with youth my entire life in schools, after-school programs, and through tutoring. I love to meet young people and partner with them to achieve their goals in reading and writing. I take a strength-based approach, getting to know students' interests and making lessons engaging for them! We will start from the beginning, work on on homework, craft papers together, do test prep for reading comp, and more! I love when student's come back to me with a grade or feedback on their test or essay that shows the growth we are working on!
In my free-time I love to edit and write, travel, cook, surf, box, learn new languages, and skate. I have experience as a professional freelance editor and writer, as well as an educator in New York City schools.
