About Dylan

I am a student at Bristol University studying for a Master's in Theoretical Physics. I discovered my passion for Maths and Physics when studying for my A levels (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) where I achieved A*A*A. I have experience in teaching GCSE Maths and am able to cover A level content. I commonly help my course mates grasp concepts and to help them through questions they are working on as I am usually ahead on my work. University has been a great opportunity for me to discover that I love teaching and much as I love learning.

About the lesson

I am very passionate about maths and this will reflect in my teaching. I aim to help my students in a subject that can sometimes seem difficult. My approach will be to support and guide learners to find their own way to better understand maths. I generally start by asking what areas they need work on. I would give an overview of the topic and develop a workplan to support their learning. We would then move on to check their understanding by going over some example questions such as from past papers. Then we can work on some together before setting them problems to practise. I adjust my lesson plans to suit my students' preferences and what may help them most at the time. I am a Physics student so any students interested in Physics can gain bonus knowledge in this area if they so desire. I try to make my teaching environment as comfortable, enjoyable and stress-free as possible. In order to let the learning sink in I continually gauge my students' understanding and if there are areas within a topic that they are particularly struggling with we can adapt the lesson from there.
