We won the lottery by getting assigned Ebony as my son's 2nd-3rd grade teacher. She is exceedingly warm and kind while also running a tight ship, a balance that gave my son both the structure and encouragement he needed. She skillfully guided my son through early reading/writing and fostered his love of history, which are skills and passions that he still draws upon. She gives the world's best hugs and remains one of our favorite, all-time humans!

I have had the privilege of being an educator with Ebony for over 20 years. I’ve worked closely with her on classroom projects and have watched her encourage all students to realize their strengths and potential. Her passion in the classroom is contagious. Students are eager to learn from Ebony, as her lessons are designed to reach a wide range of learners. Ebony also goes beyond the daily lesson plan and engages students in learning life skills. Where do I start …

Ebony is the soul of our experience with education in San Francisco.

We started in her 1st grade class with a 5 year old who barely spoke English. I have no idea how she did it, but he spoke English in the first few weeks. Not only was he speaking English, he was talking about the civil rights movement and how to co duct himself. He has been a gem since and I credit Ebony, not me. She picked up our family when we couldn’t and we’re in disarray.

Her gentile heart and patience, her tactics and educational skills prepared our son in ways I am sure nobody else could.

Ebony is a friend to all. My son is now in the 5th grade and seeks Ebony for guidance as do I. The base of who he is comes from family, and Ebony.

Ebony was my son’s teacher and next year she will teach my daughter. I have had the pleasure of knowing her for 5 years. She is an expert in her field and she leads with love. She is committed to her craft and her students. She has remarkable character and is a pleasure to work with.

Ebony was my 1st and 2nd grade teacher and did a phenomenal job! She made sure no kid was left behind and created an amazing classroom environment for all kids! Ebony is an incredible teacher, and all kids loved her!

Ebony was my 1st grade teacher! I remember their one on one and small group reading lessons with me and my classmates. Gradually progressing up levels as a group and as an individual made reading so fun! As a high school teacher now I use many of her engagement strategies on my own students (tweaked of course!) who struggle with reading and comprehension. In addition to their instructional strategies they also have a knack of coming up with fun projects which is proven to strengthen student engagement with the content and retention of it and the skills. I distinctly can recall a project where we mummified real fish! This sort of project has stuck with me over the years and I am now a 27 year old history teacher with a degree in political science. Their teaching in addition to many others has definitely impacted me in positive way when it comes to my education and how I educate others. I would without a doubt recommend Ebony to other members of the Superprof community.

Ebony and I worked together at a school in San Francisco. She was a veteran/master teacher when I just started, and she was tremendously supportive in helping me transition into a new school community. Additionally, I observed her teach and saw how incredible she is with students. Her patience, organization, enthusiasm, and desire for her students to succeed are admirable. She is an incredible educator and a colleague I was lucky to learn from.

I have worked with Ebony in education for 9 years and only have wonderful things to say. She makes learning fun and sparks curiosity and creativity in all of her students. She goes through reading, math, science, social studies and social emotional lessons in age appropriate ways while also making the lessons diverse, engaging, and helps each student feel successful along the way. She also understands how everyone learns differently and can customize for those that are fast and/or advanced as well as students that need more repetition and scaffolding. I’m very lucky to work with Ebony and value her many years of experience as a teacher.

Ebony is an incredible teacher and tutor. My daughter has been fortunate to have her as both. She uses many different strategies to convey information and engages her students effortlessly. She understands the myriad of learning styles and makes learning fun for her students. My daughter has made so much progress working with Ebony on her reading and writing skills, but has also gained overall confidence in herself and feels 100% supported. I recommend Ebony 100%!

Ebony has a wealth of knowledge and is very welcoming and personable. She has taught elementary school aged students for years and has a wonderful background in teaching students of different learning styles and needs. I have worked alongside Ebony and have become a better educator from her mentoring and example. She is creative and caring.

Ebony is an outstanding teacher. She was my son's teacher and she taught him how to read and write . He came into second grade unable to do either, and by the end of the year, he was at or above grade level thanks to her. He is now an avid reader who can't get enough of a good book. Ebony is approachable, kind, effective, and terrific with all types of learners. She is able to meet students where they are, help them leverage their strengths, and also improve their weaknesses.
