About Samantha
I am a specialized honours BA graduate from York University and a Clinical Psychology graduate student at Simon Fraser University with a passion for research. I currently work as a psychiatry researcher at one of the largest hospitals in Toronto, Canada. My passion is research in psychology, and I hope to be able to ignite the same passion within my students!
On the side, I have a retired research beagle named Whiskey (who is likely to make a cameo in online tutor sessions). I also rode horses for the Canadian Junior Show Jumping team in my youth.

Effective tutors remember what it was like to be a learner (and, in fact, remember that they are still learners). I believe in conveying a genuine sense that my students’ ideas and questions matter (they do!) and I invite them to take ownership over their learning and to get excited about their growth. Establishing the right environment is absolutely vital to the enterprise of learning.
My typical lesson plan depends on the goals of the student. I meet them at their level and we build together, from there.
I am able to tutor people at the undergraduate level and below, in a variety of subjects.
