About Chandani

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) having 5+ years of teaching experience and self-practice since childhood. I am a Certified Yoga Teacher having done 900 hours of Advanced Teachers Training course from the world's oldest Yoga Institute. In my experience, I have taught people from various age and health backgrounds.

I believe in practice what you preach, hence my teachings are based out of my on own experiences. The sessions are pre-planned and I practice along with the student while teaching. Each session has a combination of Yog Asanas, flows, meditation and pranayama. The physical practice are combined with attitude training to bring about a holistic change in the outlook.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

    I am a Certified Yoga Instructor, registered at Yoga Alliance with RYT-500. As a kid, my mother gave me a book on yoga which really got me interested in learning more about it. I would read the book and do the yoga asanas as described in it. Slowly, I had mastered most of the difficult asanas given in the book. Growing up, I could see a lot of positive effects of yoga that made my curiosity grow even further to complete an advanced teachers training course in Yoga therapy.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

    Self-practice and the effects of practice really motivated me to choose teaching because I wanted to spread the traditional yoga to many people so that they could benefit from it just the way I did.
  • How does your work help society?

    During the lockdown, I realised that this pandemic has really caused havoc in many people's lives not just physically but mentally as well. Through yoga, I have seen people being uplifted and working towards becoming a better version of themselves. My mission is to take yoga to as many people as I can and see them benefit from the practice.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

    I am very inspired by the Yoga Sutras of Maharishi Patanjali. I would say that his body of work is a role-model for me because it inspires me to not practice yoga on the mat but off the mat as well.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

    Professionally, I am a Chartered Accountant running my own firm. Apart from my profession, I love playing badminton, walking, reading and trying new things beyond my comfort zone.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

    I would like to share an interesting anecdote about my student that after she learnt yoga from me, it was the first time in her life that she had experienced easy menstruation and was feeling happy all the time. All these benefits came to her in less than 3 months of training. That's how powerful yoga is. I would also like to put this across that Yoga is not just about physical asanas, it requires mental attitude to get holistic benefits.
