About Sofie

My name is Sofie Zeck and I am a recent graduate of Kansas State University. I obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a focus area in cellular and molecular biology, earning a cumulative GPA of 3.8. I have earned A's in Physics 1 and 2, Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Calculus 1, Trigonometry, Genetics, and Molecular Biology of Genes and Genomes. I earned high grades in these courses by cultivating good study skills and instilling a passion for learning within myself. I am very passionate about education and I would love to assist any student with their coursework. I am confident that I can help students not only attain their desired grade but learn to enjoy the process of studying and learning as well.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on empathy. I am very good at identifying gaps in students' knowledge, understanding how to close those gaps, and I genuinely care about the success of others. I am passionate about academia and learning, I think there is joy to be found in any subject, no matter how difficult it may seem at first! My lesson plans will start with simply addressing the concerns in learning brought to me and reviewing a student's relevant coursework but will evolve as I develop a better grasp of the learning style of the individual. My lessons are primarily geared towards college students; however, I am more than happy and equipped to assist high school and middle school students as well. While my best subjects are math and science, I am an avid reader and I have also received A's in English and writing classes, so I can be very versatile with the subjects I am willing to assist with!
