About Van Der
I work in health, fitness, and education with a focus on helping people improve how they move, feel, and perform in daily life. My work centres on making exercise accessible, structured, and effective for people at all levels, from complete beginners to experienced clients looking to refine their practice.
I am a qualified Yoga Teacher, Pilates Instructor, Personal Trainer, Gym Instructor, and Sports Massage Therapist. I also work within vocational education, supporting the training and assessment of future fitness professionals. This combination of practical coaching and educational experience allows me to deliver sessions that are safe, well structured, and grounded in current industry standards.
My approach to teaching is simple and professional. I assess individual needs, set clear goals, and guide each student through progressive, achievable sessions. I focus on correct technique, controlled movement, breathing awareness, and steady development. Every session is planned with purpose, ensuring students understand what they are doing and why they are doing it.
I have experience working with a wide range of clients, including beginners, individuals returning to exercise after time away, and those looking to improve strength, flexibility, posture, mobility, or stress management. Each session is adapted to the individual so progress is realistic, safe, and consistent.

Whatever your goal, my yoga sessions are designed to help you feel healthier, stronger, and more balanced both physically and mentally.
My classes combine movement, breathing techniques, relaxation, and mindfulness to create an enjoyable and rewarding experience. You do not need to be flexible, fit, or experienced to begin. In fact, many of my clients start with little or no previous yoga experience. The goal is progress, not perfection.
I teach using a supportive, step-by-step approach that helps you develop confidence while learning correct technique. Each session is adapted to your individual ability, allowing you to work at a pace that feels comfortable while still making steady progress. Whether you want to improve flexibility, strengthen your core, reduce tension, manage stress, improve balance, support healthy weight management, or increase your overall fitness, sessions are tailored to your needs.
A typical lesson lasts between 45 and 60 minutes and includes a combination of yoga postures, breathing exercises, mobility work, relaxation techniques, and guided instruction. Every session is structured to help you leave feeling refreshed, accomplished, and energised.

The rest is simply practice, patience, and a little willingness to show up for yourself.

Van Der is a great Personal Trainer who offers excellent packages that also include Sports Massage, which made a big difference in my training and recovery. He is friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable, always taking the time to explain things clearly and provide support throughout the process.
