About Lea

Hi! My name is Lea. I have been a writer for over a decade, and am a self-published author. My education was focused on the English language, and it is a skill that has followed me my entire life. I am passionate about teaching and learning language, to both foreign and native students, and look forward to every opportunity to impart the knowledge I hold so dear. I am a soon-to-be TESOL-certified English instructor who has been teaching English at an amateur capacity for over a decade. I have edited and proofread multiple college theses and assignment essays, taken a number of college courses in professional and creative writing, and will continue to expand my knowledge of the English language as both a hobby and a professional asset. I also speak a number of other languages -- in addition to English, I speak German fluently, and some Spanish and Japanese. However, I am always excited to meet new people from all parts of the world, at all skill levels, so that we can connect over the English language and get to know more about each other. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

My language teaching style focuses primarily on communication and comprehension, emphasizing a student's ability to understand, and be understood. Key focus points will include pronunciation, common grammar mistakes, fluidity, and organic language formation. My goal is to make my students feel comfortable speaking, reading, and writing English in real-time situations, and I hope to do that by building their confidence and reinforcing strong cognitive associations to make language retention easier! I also offer lessons in essay and creative writing! In these lessons I will focus on syntax, expanding your vocabulary, common writing mistakes, building viable narratives, and techniques for conveying information in concise, legible ways. Essay writing lessons will also include how to properly format professional documents, citation, and finding legitimate source materials. I hope that I am able to be the tutor that you are looking for, and I look forward to working with you soon!
