About Themba
. I am holding the following qualifications: University diploma in secondary science education [UDES]; advanced certificate in Science education [ACE-FET]; Baccalaureus Educationis [Honours] FET- Educational Management; Leadership Management [NQF- level 4], Strategic Planning [NQF- level 4] and Change Management[NQF-level]. I trained as a train the trainer for the following; - Institutional financial Management, Governance, RCL leadership and Project development and management by Matthew Goniwe school of Leadership
I taught Math, science and computer science since 1997 producing traceable results, as a result of hard work, team spirit and ability to work amicably with people inspiring them to be fruitful and productive I was promoted as a head of the Maths, & Science Department ( Kgomotso Comprehensive High) then promoted as a Deputy Principal (Padisago ) where I was responsible for Curriculum management, Integrated Quality Management System(Educator Performance), Performance Management and Development ( non-teaching staff) and co/extra curriculum program’s.
I managed to fund raise for the extension of the school building and built 6 classrooms, where I was appointed as a project manager coordinating and overseeing the life span of the project, giving both verbal and written financial reports to the governing body, parents and auditor, I was then promoted as a Principal of the same school.
As a principal I negotiated a Mamelodi Sundown Sponsor for the training of school kids and local community using our sports field, developed policies, conducted SGB and teacher developmental trainings and workshops. I worked hard in marketing the school which yielded numerical growth from 840 to 1300 learners (Grade R to grade 7)
I was then promoted and appointed as the IDSO[Institutional development support office] at Tshwane west District, where I continue to work hard, learn new trades, equip and empower my subordinates(Both Primary & High School Principals) by giving clear goals and shared administrative skills. Conduct training, workshops and other Job related Insert viz
Prioritize and more often visit schools that are dysfunctional or under-performing, or as required by imperatives. Draw a weekly plan in which the following are indicated:
• School visits (including their purpose)
• Meetings with principals / stakeholders
• Workshops
1. Write report to the school, which should pass through both the office of the immediate supervisor and the District Director after every visit.
2. Record in the school’s log book, against signature, the date and purpose of visit and clearly identify areas that require attention and provide recommendations. In cases where there are no problems and / or where good practice is observed, be sure to record it.
3. Maintain files for each of the schools in my jurisdiction. All matters relating to a particular school should be contained in the appropriate files and its contents should be indexed accordingly for quick retrieval.
4. Hold Principals' Cluster Meetings (PCMs) at least twice a month, and ensure the functionality of the cluster meeting to strengthen the principals' support, transfer skills, share good practice and to solve common problems. Maintaining minutes of the cluster meetings.
5. Monitor and support school management and school governing bodies to ensure school functionality.
6. Ensure that schools has all relevant Learner teacher material and furniture
7. Ensure that School Finance is well administered
8. Monitor and Support the Principal in ensuring that Curriculum is managed and hold SMT/Educators accountable for underperformance.
9. Ensure the functionality of SAIC
I am Currently working at The Love Trust as the principal of Nokuphila School, over and above the role of principalship, I am COVID -19 compliance officer and have introduced IICT/STEM and Robotics classes ensuring that learners get necessary skills needed to participate in the global village-
