About Parker
Hi! My name is Parker, and I am currently completing my final semester studying Primary Education and Primary Special Education for grades PreK–5. I have spent the past few years gaining hands-on experience in both general education and special education classrooms with students of different ages and learning needs.
I have experience teaching and supporting students in reading, phonics, writing, math, science, and social studies. I am patient and understanding, and I know that every student learns differently. If something does not make sense the first time, I am always willing to slow down and find another way to explain it.
I truly enjoy working with children and helping them become more confident in themselves and their schoolwork. My goal is for students to feel comfortable asking me questions and to leave each tutoring session feeling like they understand the material a little better than they did before.

I want students to feel comfortable learning with me and know that it is okay to make mistakes. I have experience in both general education and special education classrooms, so I understand that not every student learns in the same way. I try to find what works best for each student and go from there.
I like to use examples, visuals, hands-on activities, and lots of practice. A typical lesson would start with a quick review, then we would work through the new skill together before the student tries it more independently. I always check in along the way to make sure they understand before moving on.
What sets me apart is my classroom experience and patience. If a student does not understand something the first way I explain it, I am more than willing to try a different approach. I also want students to build confidence and feel proud of the progress they are making.
My tutoring is best for elementary students in grades K–5. I can help with reading, phonics, writing, math, science, social studies, homework, or extra practice in areas where a student may be struggling.
