About Naviah
Writing has always felt like a compass for me in a way that keeps me grounded and pointed in the right direction. When my thoughts feel scattered, writing brings them into focus. When I struggle to explain myself, it gives me language. It’s more than something I do; it’s how I make sense of the world. Over time, it’s become a source of purpose, and that’s something I genuinely want to share.
I don’t see tutoring as simply helping students complete assignments. I see it as helping them discover their own voice and recognize their potential. Writing can feel overwhelming at first, but with the right guidance and encouragement, it becomes empowering.
I won first place in a speech competition with a speech I wrote myself, an experience that strengthened my confidence in both my voice and my ability to communicate meaningful ideas. I also earned recognition for my poetry by winning a poetry competition, which reflects my passion for writing and expressing complex emotions through words.
I show up to each session prepared, patient, and fully invested. My goal is to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, building their skills, and growing in confidence. I want them to leave not only with stronger writing, but with a stronger belief in themselves.

As a pre-law student, I focus on helping students write clearly and with confidence. My goal is to make writing feel less overwhelming and more manageable. I teach students how to build strong thesis statements, organize their ideas into clear paragraphs, and use evidence in a way that actually supports their argument. During a typical lesson, we break down the assignment together, brainstorm ideas, create a simple outline, and work through drafting or revising step by step. I don’t just correct papers—I explain why changes matter so students understand the process. My background in law has trained me to think carefully about structure and reasoning, which helps students strengthen argumentative and academic essays. I work with middle school, high school, and early college students who want to improve their writing skills, feel more confident in class, and develop tools they can use long after our sessions end.

Naviah is really patient when it comes to anything English related. What I appreciate most about her teaching methods is that she teaches with real care and pays attention to the small details in your writing. She does not just correct you, she explains why something should be changed so you actually learn from it.
I met her in person as a tutor at my college, and she truly has skill. I tend to write the way I speak, using a lot of filler words like “like,” “and,” and “so.” She helped me recognize those habits and showed me how to properly write without depending on fillers. Because of her, my writing is clearer, stronger, and more professional. I definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their English skills.I’ve known her for two years, and if there’s one thing I can tell you, it’s that writing isn’t just something she does — it’s who she is. I’ve watched her pour herself into words, not because she has to, but because she genuinely loves it. She thinks deeply, she cares about clarity, and she doesn’t settle for ‘good enough.’
What makes her different, though, is how patient she is with other people. She won’t make you feel dumb for not understanding something. She’ll sit with you, walk through it step by step, and make sure you actually get it. And she doesn’t just correct your work — she helps you see what you’re capable of.
If you work with her, you’re not just getting someone who’s good at writing. You’re getting someone who wants you to grow and who actually believes you can.See more recommendations
