About Aislynn
I am a 29 year old English teacher based in NYC. Previously I was living in Los Angeles (grew up there!) and before that I was teaching English in Barcelona, Spain, so I am familiar most with teaching Spanish-speakers.
I enjoy teaching primarily because I love creating meaningful relationships - I find this happens most with my private or small-group students. I can tailor the lessons to the individual, which is not only interesting for me, but personalized for the student.
I believe that tests can judge a person's accuracy/improvement on a subject, but I like to focus more on how comfortable my students are with the language, and correcting as we go. I hold my students accountable without having them feel hesitant to try.

I like to create meaningful and trusting relationships with my students - I believe this reduces anxiety and allows my students to practice/learn without fear of failing.
I like to personalize my lesson plans to my students' interests + share lesson plans based on my personal interests. Some of my favorite lessons are based on traveling, animals, food (like Michelin Star restaurants and TV shows), pop culture, and marine biology (I love the ocean!)
I am also experienced and trained to tach students who are preparing for TOEFL or other exams. I am very experienced in teaching grade-school aged children and working/professional adults.
