About Iona
My qualifications: I am currently a Master's student at LSE. I am undertaking an MSc in Gender, Policy and Inequalities. I graduated from the University of Oxford with a high 2:1 in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (BA). I achieved three A*s at A-Level in History, English Literature and Mathematics. I received 9 A*s and 1A at GCSE.
My experience: I have a breadth of tutoring experience. I have worked for a private tutoring company, assisting children with entrance exams for competitive independent schools in the UK. I have also tutored English Literature GCSE and essay-writing skills.
I have worked as an English Language Teacher in Spain for 9 months. I am therefore very confident in working with students whose first language is not English.

What I offer: I offer tuition in politics, philosophy, English literature and English Language both at GCSE and A-Level. I am happy to teach any exam board as I will familiarise myself with the specification beforehand. I also offer general tuition in grammar and essay writing skills for KS3 and GCSE students.
My teaching strategy: I am a friendly, warm tutor who creates a safe learning environment in which students feel at ease. I challenge my students to push themselves and reach their potential, but do so in a way that is reaffirming and encouraging. I tailor my lessons to meet each students' unique needs in consultation with the student and/or parent.
