Mara was my teacher in the UK for some years while I learnt Portuguese for work. She is a very patient and kind teacher, who emits confidence to her students. She catered to my specific needs (more formal language for work) while also making sure I had the base to put my thoughts into words. Mara could not have been a better teacher! She was extremely patient when I was slow to understand, she always made sure to engage me in discussions so that I could practice my speaking which was extremely helpful as I needed to be able to speak Portuguese relatively fast. We met in the UK through acquaintances and we had about 2 lessons a week for roughly 5 months and I am now able to have full conversations in Portuguese as well as being able to read and write. I cannot recommend her enough, as besides being a great teacher she is also very reliable and friendly!
