As a high school graduate, I passed both AP Language and AP Literature with a 5. I also scored a 36 on the English and Reading sections of the ACT. As a result, I am very familiar with the rules students need to learn to pass various levels of English curriculum at school.

When teaching English, I use a combination of active reading strategies, grammar exercises, and structured writing techniques to guide students. Whether working on school work such as literary analysis, composition, or critical thinking or just summer practice, I encourage students to ask questions, make connections, and express their ideas with clarity and confidence.
A typical lesson starts with a brief warm-up to review previous concepts or introduce new vocabulary. Then, I focus on a core skill, such as analyzing a passage, refining sentence structure, or developing arguments in writing. We engage in exercises that help them apply these concepts, whether through discussions, annotations, or creative writing prompts. I always dedicate time for feedback and depending on their goals, I might assign additional practice to reinforce learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to tailor lessons to each student’s strengths and challenges. I focus on blending literary exploration with practical applications.
My lessons are designed for students at different levels, from elementary learners building foundational grammar to high school students mastering advanced composition and rhetorical analysis. I also support students working on specialized writing, whether for college applications, debate, or professional communication.
