About Trevor
I am an individual who values intellectual growth. I recall when I was in school, even. In the classes I excelled in, I often had extra time in class that I would use to mentor students that were struggling. In the writing competitions I would participate in, I remember seeing the proficiencies of other students at my level. On account of being allowed to read their work after each contestant submitted their final drafts, I would often be surprised by my placement. I made certain to always let them know what I thought they did well and why I might disagree with the judge's decision to place my work ahead of theirs.

My lessons would start with a word of the day to aid in the development and expansion of the student's vernacular, followed by instruction on definition and proper usage of the term. Then we would branch out into practicing using it in a sentence and working with synonyms that can be used in place of the term. I believe it's important to explore alternatives so that the budding writer can develop their own style of writing while maintaining proper use of mechanics such as punctuation so as to refrain from potentially irritating any English teachers they might receive an assignment from outside of my lessons. We would wrap up the lesson with an assignment which would vary between both reading and writing exercises.
