I’m going to break this down into two segments. First of which is does not concern software development direct, but rather parenting style and the form of upbringing you wish for your children to carry on for the rest of their adult lives.
So the first, and most crucial, order of business is: nurturing your children with the mindset of a producer, and not of a consumer.
In my experience, simply enjoying or loving a particular form of performance - by others - does not necessarily translate into a deep personal desire to perform said activity.
