About Alonso

I am a doctoral researcher in the History of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, with an academic background shaped by philosophical study at UNC Chapel Hill and advanced work in the history of philosophy. My interests extend across ancient Greek philosophy, philosophical logic, epistemology, ethics, existentialism, and the broader history of ideas. Alongside philosophy, I have a strong interest in English language, literature, and precise written expression. I value intellectual curiosity, conceptual clarity, and rigorous argumentation, and I aim to help students develop a deeper understanding of what they study, communicate their ideas effectively, and think independently. Whether exploring classical philosophical texts, improving academic writing, or strengthening critical-thinking skills, I approach learning as an opportunity to cultivate both knowledge and intellectual independence.

About the lesson

I offer personalized Philosophy and English lessons tailored to each student’s level, interests, and academic goals. I am a doctoral researcher in the History of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, with a strong academic background in philosophy and extensive independent study across philosophical traditions.

My philosophy lessons cover the history of philosophy, philosophical logic, argument analysis, critical thinking, and the close reading of major philosophical texts. Whether you are a beginner exploring philosophical questions or a university student working with demanding primary sources, I aim to make complex ideas clear while maintaining intellectual rigor.
