About Gerardo
I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Oregon in the United States. At the UO, I teach Italian to undergraduate students. I also earned a MA in Romance Languages from the University of Oregon. I have an excellent knowledge of English which would allow me to evaluate repetitions in English as well

The method I use for my Italian lessons at the University of Oregon is based on what is defined in English: The PACE Model, where the P stands for presentation, the A for attention, the C for co-construnction, and the for E for extension. In practice, the students are asked to focus on the grammar structure that they intend to learn only after they put it into practice through writing or speaking exercises. In this way, the lesson is not as frontal as traditional face-to-face classes, but it is more interactive and engaging. The students produce the grammar structure, put it into practice, understand its functioning, and implements it with previous knowledge that will favor the memorization of what has been learned in class.
