About Courtney

I have a Master's in Biomedical Sciences and got my Bachelor's degree in Biology. I have been tutoring chemistry since I was in high school (12+ years ago). Since then I have tutored all levels of chemistry and biology for various companies and freelance. I have also worked extensively over the last 7 years with TRIO programs at the high school and college levels, where I developed tutoring programs, mentored students, and served as an academic counselor and teaching assistant. I have a lot of experience with adjusting my content to the needs of the student population I am working with.

About the lesson

My philosophy on tutoring and teaching is to learn by doing. I like to teach by working through problem sets.

Over the years I have collected a stash of problem sets for various chemistry, biochem, and biology topics. I will work with you to find out what material you are struggling with and build a problem set designed to help you master that material.

Our sessions will be spent working through problem sets and reinforcing concepts. But if you need more of a back-to-basics - I can start with some intro material. Personally, though I would rather send you some links to Khan Academy to learn the basics and then let us dive into the deeper stuff. Khan Academy is free, so you get a better value for your dollar when you do the free stuff first and then fill in the blanks with me.

So let's get to learning!
