About Summer
I'm Summer, an MD/PhD candidate at a top-20 medical school with a passion for both science and teaching. I've worked in academic science for over a decade, mentoring students from high school through graduate school as they tackle challenging STEM courses, strengthen their medical and graduate school applications, and develop their scientific writing.
I earned a top 1% score on my NIH F30 fellowship application, have received multiple academic and research awards, and am preparing to defend my PhD in RNA biology, stem cell technologies, and neuroscience.
My hands-on experience spans anatomy (including dissections), pathophysiology, and cell and molecular biology techniques, as well as direct patient care as a medical student provider.
Over my career, I've explained complex scientific ideas to audiences ranging from a single student to more than 1,500 people. I can meet you wherever you are and bring you closer to where you want to be.
