About Jacob
I graduated from the university of Manchester with a BSc in mathematics in 2019. After that I moved to Coventry and studied at the university of Warwick to obtain my MSc, also in mathematics. I was set to move back to Warwick and complete a PhD once the COVID-19 pandemic was over but instead decided to explore my opportunities at the universit of Edinburgh, accepting a studentship at the MAC-MIGS centre for doctoral training in mathematical modelling, applied analysis and computation.

I like to discuss the idea briefly before providing examples to work through, I will give the student plenty of opportunities to ask questions and demonstrate their understanding of the subject by asking for their input at important steps in the examples. It's also important to me that I focus on things that are important to the syllabus and that the student feels they need help with, so, I will work with the student to decide what should be covered. I will also give optional exercises for the student to complete themselves because maths is not a spectator sport.

Details
Cost of travel will vary depending on location and will be included in the price, I will check and ensure that everything is agreed upon beforehand.
I may be able to assist with exams such as STEP and MAT, however these will require extra preparation and may cost more.
Please try to provide at least 24 hour notice for cancellations or rearrangements. Unfortunately, due to a recent experience I require payment through SuperProf or in advance for new students.
