About Jeff
English courses can be challenging because there often isn’t one obvious “right” answer. Strong work depends on being able to interpret a text, support your interpretation and communicate your ideas clearly.

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to the work you’re currently doing.
If you’re staring at an essay prompt with no idea where to begin, we can start there. If you already have a draft, we can identify what’s working, what needs improvement and how to make the argument stronger.

I’m a PhD student at York University with eight years of university teaching experience.
I hold a Master’s degree in Studies in Comparative Literature and the Arts, a Master’s degree in Philosophy, and an Honours BA in Philosophy and Film Studies.
My academic work has required extensive experience with literature, close reading, interpretation, research and essay writing.
I enjoy helping students move beyond simply summarizing a text and develop the stronger analysis instructors are usually looking for.
