About Katie
Nurturing and developing young minds is a passion very close to my heart. I have been in state secondary school teaching for 5 years and I always try to cultivate a relaxed and enjoyable environment whilst being considered to have a caring approach.
Since the pandemic, I began to take on more online private tutoring sessions and I have thoroughly enjoyed the 1 to 1 aspect and really getting to know my pupils whilst encouraging their educational growth. Furthermore, the subject of science, specifically Biology and Chemistry, are a passion of mine. I firmly believe that whilst passing on knowledge is imperative in the science subjects, care should also be taken to keep the lessons fun, interactive and engaging. Capturing the students imagination and generating curiosity is, for me, of upmost importance.

I have been in state secondary school teaching for 5 years and I always try to cultivate a relaxed and enjoyable environment whilst being considered to have a caring approach.
I am a Biochemistry with Toxicology university graduate and I have a PGCE in Science (Chemistry specialism) with qualified teacher status. I have extensive experience in teaching general science to KS3 and Biology and Chemistry to GCSE and A level.
The typical length of my lessons are 1 hour long, which would normally consist of interactive activities, subject theory and informal assessments/quizzing but my lessons can be personalised to your specific needs.
