About Dr Hizam
I am a Civil/Structural engineer by profession and I have been involved in teaching since 2012 when I worked with USQ as an engineering tutor. Since then, I have provided one-to-one tutoring and small group tutoring in regards to Civil engineering subjects, fundamental physics, and maths (and advanced maths). I also have experience with the high school maths syllabus for Year 10, 11, and 12 (General maths unit 1, 2, 3, 4). Prior to teaching, I was working as a Project Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry and I have acquired a PhD from USQ in Composite Structures. I am competent in solving engineering problems which involve the field of applied maths, applied mechanics, and material sciences and this gives me extensive practical experience in the subjects I tutor.

My teaching methodology for 1hr tutorial session:
1) Perform a quick assessment to measure students understanding of the subjects.
2) Tailoring content to meet students' needs.
3) Explain difficult theories in simple terms by breaking concepts down and using visual aids (graphs, plots, and mind map).
4) Provide comprehensive exercises and tutorials and relate them with practical or real-world scenarios.
