About Cowie

Hello! My name is Cowie, and I am a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist with a passion for Mathematics and Science. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a deep understanding of scientific concepts and discovered that I genuinely enjoy helping others learn and grow.

I believe education has the power to build confidence and open doors. Seeing a student finally understand a concept they once found difficult is incredibly rewarding, and that’s what motivates me to teach.

I am patient, approachable and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. Whether you need help catching up, preparing for exams or striving for top marks, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, learning style and academic goals. I create a supportive, patient and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.

I believe understanding is far more valuable than memorising. Rather than simply teaching students how to solve a problem, I help them understand the reasoning behind it, making it easier to apply their knowledge in tests and exams.

Whether you’re struggling with difficult concepts, preparing for an upcoming exam, or aiming to improve your marks, I will adapt each lesson to your pace. We’ll work through examples together, tackle practice questions and identify areas that need extra attention.

My goal is not only to help students achieve better results but also to develop confidence, critical thinking skills and a genuine appreciation for Maths and Science.

I especially like the line “I believe understanding is far more valuable than memorising.” It communicates a teaching philosophy that many parents look for and sets you apart from tutors who focus only on getting through the syllabus.
