About Hannah

I have recently graduated with a First Class degree in Modern Languages (French, Spanish and Russian) from the University of Bristol.

I have given individual English classes in a Madrid international law firm where I worked as a translator as part of my degree's year abroad and I also worked as a secondary school language assistant in the French and Spanish departments in my gap year before university, taking my own classes and preparing exam revision resources. I have also tutored students in French and Spanish when I was in secondary school.

As a polyglot, I am able to teach the language not only as a native, but as a learner of multiple languages and so I have a deep understanding of how to best explain English to a foreign speaker.

About the lesson

As a recent graduate, I know what it is like to be a student, especially as a modern languages student of French, Spanish and Russian (yes, I know, three languages all at once? What can I say? I love a challenge!). I am very well versed in the flexibility needed when it comes to each individual's language learning and I believe it is crucial to adapt teaching methodologies and lesson plans to fit your learning goals.

I teach anyone, so whether you are a beginner and your learning style is more visual and conversational, or you are a near-fluent business professional who wishes to analyse financial articles and discuss the vocabulary and tone; in both cases, I will ensure our lessons are productive and engaging. Our first lesson will focus on getting to know a little bit about each other and ascertaining what your objectives are for our sessions.

I am able to teach all areas of English; reading, writing, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, speaking, and I also offer proofreading and editing services.

I will speak in English during all of our lessons, however, if your native language is one that I speak and you believe this would suit your learning style, I will able to facilitate your learning by interjecting with translated words.
