About Camilla
I have spent the last year gaining valuable experience as a server at Mujiri, but my goal is to combine these skills with my passions in science/biology. I have a BA in Biology at San Francisco State University, where I am pursuing my interests in natural sciences and learning about topics such as genetics, ecology, and evolution. I have acquired technical experience with Microsoft/Google Suites, Zoom, and many other tools that enable me to collaborate effectively with my peers and professors in online settings. I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills to the fields of biotechnology, bioinformatics, or environmental conservation, where I can contribute to the advancement of science and society.

Depending on the topic we are working on, my teaching method is a blend of lecturing, discussion, differentiated teaching, and the socratic method. However, I feel that the socratic method can be particularly effective, especially in helping students to retain information long-term. I also make sure to meet students where they are at and that we are connecting and on the same page. As a previous student myself who dealt with teachers who did not meet my unique educational needs, I understand how important it is to teach in a way that works for each unique student. My lesson plans will consist of reviewing content given in class, helping with homework, doing practice problems, and using content from class/textbooks to quiz students. I am able to tutor grades ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade.
