I have come across all sorts of learning methods i.e. guitar classes, tutorial videos, live performing, jamming with fellow guitarists and also being self taught. I know the pros and cons of each one of them. Therefore, for my students I strive to combine the best and focus on patient yet interesting learning which is combined of both conventional and improvised techniques of guitar playing.
