About Lance
Hi, I’m Lance, a Stage 2 Electrical Engineering student at University College Dublin. Maths is the core of everything I study and the subject I’m strongest in. I finished first year with a 3.9 GPA and an A+ in maths in both semesters, after scoring an A+ in maths and an A in Advanced Programme Maths in South Africa’s IEB exams.
I already tutor online, and my favourite part is the moment a topic that seemed impossible finally makes sense. I’m patient and clear, and I never make anyone feel behind for asking a question.
I take every lesson seriously. I’m always on time, I come prepared with material tailored to you, and I reply to messages quickly. Parents are welcome to a short progress update after each lesson.

All my grinds are online over Zoom. Most students aren’t bad at maths; they’ve just missed a step somewhere. In the first lesson we go through a recent test or past paper to find exactly where you’re losing marks.
In each lesson I explain the topic step by step and we work through examples together. Then you try similar questions while I guide you, and we finish with exam-style questions so you learn how marks are awarded. After every lesson you get practice worksheets, past-paper questions sorted by topic and full worked solutions, so you’re never stuck between sessions.
Lessons are 60 minutes.
I’m a Stage 2 Electrical Engineering student at UCD with a 3.9 GPA and an A+ in maths in both semesters. In school I got 93% in maths and 82% in Advanced Programme Maths (South Africa’s IEB exams). I already tutor online, including a student coming back to maths after a few years out.
Lessons are for Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students (Higher and Ordinary Level, 1st to 6th year) and first-year college students taking maths modules.
