About Saffron
I've been told I'm very warm, patient, and accepting. Growing up, I was a shy, sensitive kid who struggled to ask for help -- my goal is always to reach students who struggle in traditional classroom settings. I'm a former public high school writing specialist and current K-12 teacher with plenty of experience helping students write college entrance and scholarship essays, academic essays, creative writing projects, and cover letters. All skill levels welcome. In college, as an English major, I assisted undergraduate peers with writing and editing their work. I also led a college newspaper. My passion is essay- and fiction-writing. I am also an experienced oil painter who has painted since childhood. I love to see my students' creativity and technical skill blossom, no matter their background.

I work primarily in public schools with diverse student bodies, including students with disabilities and English language learners. I try at all times to be considerate of every background, skill level, and area of interest; the best learning happens when students are engaged and excited in an environment where they feel safe to take risks and make mistakes. When we meet, we'll assess your goals, priorities, and questions and then make a plan for your success. We'll work to make challenges engaging rather than intimidating.
