About Fiachra
I’m Fiachra, a science graduate currently completing an MSc in Neuroscience. I’ve always enjoyed helping people understand subjects that initially feel difficult or intimidating, especially science. I remember how frustrating it can be to feel lost in a topic simply because it wasn’t explained in the right way, and that’s a big reason I chose to start tutoring.
I’m naturally patient, approachable, and calm, and I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities — from younger students building confidence, to university and postgraduate learners looking to deepen their understanding. I take my role seriously and aim to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.

My approach to tutoring is centred on understanding how each student learns. I break complex topics in Biology and Chemistry into clear, logical steps, using examples, diagrams, and exam-focused explanations. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but can be adapted depending on the student’s needs and attention span.
I hold a First-Class degree in Biomolecular Science and am currently completing an MSc in Neuroscience, which allows me to teach confidently across a wide range of levels — from younger school students building foundations, to Leaving Cert, undergraduate, and postgraduate learners who want deeper understanding. I adapt my style to suit each level, focusing on confidence, clarity, and long-term understanding rather than rote learning.
