About Raine
Hello there, I am a working professional who loves the English language. Since I was young, I have been a passionate reader and writer.
During my university years, international student friends would come to me for help with English translation. At work, I have been responsible for creation and editing of English communication material. My strong command in English is noticeable wherever I go, hence I find that many people turn to me when they require English editing or guidance, and I really enjoy teaching whenever I can!
I would love to be able to help you in your English language journey, whether it is a casual or more specific learning journey.

If you want to improve your grammar, reading, writing, or practice listening or speaking skills, or learn business English, we can work on that together. Our first lesson will focus on figuring out your English level and setting goals. After that, we will spend time working towards those goals. My hope is that you leave our lessons feeling more confident about your English language skills.
I admire anyone who tries to improve their language skills, which is why I offer a 1-to-1, go-at-your-own-pace, no-shame approach. I acknowledge that learning a new language is hard and it's even harder when you are not in an environment where English is used frequently.
To be clear, I am not a certified English teacher. However, I have learned English as a language (to understand the fundamentals), I have scored 115 out of 120 on the TOEFL assessment, and I have edited many English documents since my high school years. I have a strong grasp of both British English from schooling years and American English from outside-of-school influences (books, media, university education), and can help with pronunciation or teaching casual phrases.
Lessons are for individuals aged 18 and above, and will typically be around 60 minutes.
