About Stephanie
My college education at the University of Rhode Island, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, centered on ancient cultures and disenfranchised indigenous groups in Central and South America. This would become the foundation for how I view the importance of inclusivity in the classroom and individual students. I work with students to create a rapport that facilitates a connection and enables trust with their instructor, their classmates, and most importantly, themselves. My students see my class as a refuge from daily life, where they will be at ease and succeed in learning the English language. I provide for my students - teens and adults alike - everything that I would want for my own daughter to experience in a language learner environment.

My teaching philosophy is influenced by my academic background and love for travel and world culture. When working on lesson plans, I think deeply about all possible outcomes of an activity, ensuring the optimal experience for learners. A typical TEFL lesson includes a quick review of the previous lesson. All English Language lessons revolve around a theme in American culture, for example, music, sports, and fashion, allowing for a comprehensive American experience and a deeper understanding of the American English language. Each lesson contains timed components in speech, reading, and writing, and exit tickets ensure student comprehension before moving on to the next lesson. With regards to tutoring, I have extensive experience with middle school English and Language Arts curriculum.
