About ARATHY

I'm Arathy, a Dubai-based educator with over 10 years of experience teaching ICT, Computer Science, Robotics, AI, and Maths to students across Primary, KS3 and IGCSE. Teaching has always been more than a job for me — it's where I get to combine my engineering background (Gold Medalist, Master's in Communication Systems, Bachelor's in Electronics & Communication Engineering) with a genuine love for helping students understand why something works, not just memorize how.

For the past five years, I taught at a leading GEMS school in Dubai, where I also took on the role of Whole-School Innovation Leader — building robotics and AI curricula from scratch, leading the school's AI strategy, and mentoring student teams to Gold and Silver awards at the GEMS Global Innovation Challenge. I'm a Microsoft Certified Educator and Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert for four consecutive years running, and I hold an IELTS score of 7.5, so lessons are always delivered clearly and confidently in English.

Outside the classroom structure, what I care about most is meeting each student exactly where they are — whether that's rebuilding shaky Maths fundamentals, preparing for IGCSE ICT exams, or exploring Robotics and AI for the very first time. I'm patient, structured, and genuinely invested in seeing students grow in both skill and confidence.

I believe every student can succeed in technical subjects with the right guidance, pace, and encouragement — and that's exactly what I aim to bring to every lesson.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one core idea: technical subjects — whether it's Maths, ICT, Computer Science, Robotics, or AI — are learned best by doing, not just listening.

Every session is structured, personalized, and focused on measurable progress, not just covering content.

How a typical lesson works:

Quick check-in (5 minutes) — We start by reviewing what was covered last time and clearing up anything that didn't fully land. This keeps learning connected across sessions rather than treated as isolated topics.

Core teaching (20–25 minutes) — I introduce the topic through clear explanation first, then immediately move into examples and guided practice. For Maths and ICT, this often means working through problems or exercises together step-by-step, so you see not just the "how" but the "why" behind each method.

Hands-on application (15–20 minutes) — This is where the subject comes alive:
In Maths, this means practice problems that build from simple to exam-style, with a focus on identifying and fixing the specific mistakes a student tends to make.
In ICT/Computer Science, this often means actual coding exercises, working with real datasets, or building small projects.

Wrap-up & homework (5 minutes) — Every session ends with a short recap and a small, focused task to reinforce what we covered — never overwhelming, always targeted.

What makes my approach different:

Progress tracking — I keep detailed notes on each student's strengths and gaps (a habit from years as a school Data Coordinator), so lessons stay targeted rather than generic, and parents/students can see clear progress over time.

Exam-focused when needed — For IGCSE students, I align lessons closely with the Cambridge/Edexcel syllabus and use past papers and mark schemes so students know exactly what examiners are looking for.

Project-based for deeper learners — For Robotics, AI, and Computer Science especially, I bring in real project work (not just theory), drawing on my experience mentoring students to Gold and Silver awards at the GEMS Global Innovation Challenge.

Patient, adaptive pace — Every student learns differently. I adjust explanations, examples, and pacing in real time rather than following a rigid script — which is especially important for subjects like Maths and Coding where one confusing concept can block everything after it.
