My approach as a tutor is student-centered, structured, and supportive. I focus on building deep understanding rather than memorization by breaking complex concepts into manageable steps and connecting them to real-world examples. I use guided practice, questioning strategies, and frequent checks for understanding to make sure students truly grasp the material before moving on.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up to review prior learning, followed by clear modeling of a new concept using step-by-step instruction. We then move into guided practice where I gradually release responsibility to the student. Lessons end with independent practice and reflection to reinforce skills and identify any remaining gaps.
What sets me apart is my ability to simplify challenging concepts while maintaining high expectations. I prioritize confidence-building, consistency, and creating a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions. I also adapt quickly to different learning styles and pace lessons based on individual needs.
My lessons are ideal for middle school and early high school students, particularly in math (such as pre-algebra, algebra, and 8th grade curriculum).
