About Leonie
Hello! My name is Leonie and I am a fourth-year medical student getting ready to start an Internal Medicine residency program. I have always been a lover of science and have found my calling in the medical field.
I know what it feels like to seek help, and I have some keys to success to share with you. I wasn't the smartest student, but I worked hard. I had to learn *how* to study and spend many hours in tutoring sessions in order to succeed.
These experiences have shaped me into a dedicated tutor. I love teaching and helping others reach a higher level of understanding and knowledge. I gained skills as a tutor and teacher via teaching assistantships during my undergraduate degree. I am now also a peer tutor at my medical school. Combined with my tutoring experience in high school, I have now been tutoring for over 10 years.

About Me: I am a fourth-year medical student with OVER 10 years of teaching experience. In my tutoring sessions, I utilize multimodal approaches (diagrams, supplemental articles, conversation, checkpoint quizzes) in order to support all learning styles.
Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson (30 min) would cover 2-3 topics. We start by assessing your knowledge base of the topic, reviewing the topic together, and challenging your understanding of it. We repeat this 3-step process for each topic. I then encourage my students to create flashcards after our lesson to create deep learning via long-term repetition.
Who are these lessons for?:
As a tutor/teacher, I am passionate, encouraging, and sometimes challenging. I believe in my students and I want to help them achieve their goals, whatever they may be. I am open to tutoring high school students, undergraduate students, and medical students.
I can teach MCAT prep, USMLE prep, Biology, Biochemistry, Metabolism, Nutrition Science, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Cell Biology, and Molecular Biology.
My education: B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and currently completing an M.D.
