About Syed
Hi all, my name is Aatir. I'm a 23-year-old currently studying in London to become a doctor. I managed to get all 7-9s in GCSE and A*-As in A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. I’ve always loved helping others learn. My Computer Science teacher even asked me to run peer-teaching sessions in Year 11 coming up to exams, and I regularly led maths revision groups in GCSE and A-Levels because of how confidently I understood the material and how well I could teach it. I’m passionate about breaking complex ideas into simple steps and making learning feel manageable and fun, while also giving you enough free time to go spend time doing things besides studying all day. Outside of tutoring and university, I love weightlifting, photography, gaming and volunteering, things I've been doing since I was a teenager and really don't want to compromise on. Whether you're 4 or 18, I’ll adapt to your pace and help you build real confidence in biology—and beyond!

My teaching philosophy stems from personalised 1-to-1 attention. People engage with and process information in all sorts of ways, and forcing them to conform to one method would be a huge disservice. I spend the first hour or so understanding their thinking process, strengths and weaknesses, and then move into addressing them, one lesson at a time alongside their content. I find that most people struggle with focusing for large periods of time, especially after a full school day. That's why I always recommend 1-1.5 hour lessons, with 2 hour lessons only being an option when exams are around the corner. I have over 8 years of experience as a tutor, and work as a trainer/peer tutor for a plethora of charity organisations and at my medical school teaching younger students. I hold an MSc in a Life Science and am currently in my final year of MBBS Medicine. My lessons, while intended for those in their latter end of formal education (Year 10+), I have experience teaching all from the ages of 4-18, covering SATs, GCSEs and A-Levels for Maths, Biology and Chemistry.
