About Falaq
I’m a Graduate Entry Medicine student at the University of Southampton and a First-Class Medical Science graduate. Before starting medicine, I spent several years working in the NHS, where I also enjoyed helping newer staff and medical students build confidence with practical skills.
I’ve always enjoyed breaking down complicated topics and finding different ways to explain something when it doesn’t click the first time. My background in digital design also means I enjoy creating diagrams, graphics and visual explanations to make learning more engaging.
I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing genuine confidence in Maths and Science rather than simply memorising answers.

I tailor lessons around each student’s confidence, current level and the areas they find most difficult. I like to break topics down into simple steps, work through examples together, and then use practice questions to make sure the student can apply what they have learnt independently. I also like to use visual explanations, including hand-made diagrams, graphics and simple animations where helpful, to make difficult topics easier to understand and remember.
Lessons would typically be around one hour and can focus on topic revision, homework support, exam technique or specific areas a student is struggling with.
I’m a Graduate Entry Medicine student and a First-Class Medical Science graduate. I also have experience teaching and supporting clinical skills in healthcare, which has taught me how to explain things patiently and adapt my approach when someone is unsure or lacks confidence.
