About Sayuni
I have received an offer from Imperial College London to study mechanical engineering and I am currently waiting for my A-level results (for Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry). I achieved 9s in all GCSE sciences and other subjects, and an A* in A-level Maths which I did in one year in year 12 – an experience that permits me to teach content fast and effectively now.
I was selected to do maths mentoring to GCSE students in my college and besides enjoying it very much, I was also given awesome feedback that it was very beneficial.
Between lessons, I am more than happy to answer emails from the students if they are struggling with any questions or with understanding certain concepts, to ensure that they get useful support as quickly as possible.

Always patient and willing to help the student, I will listen to their individual needs and tailor my lessons to benefit them and to cover the gaps in their knowledge, but in general, lessons would be split into two parts - the first will be teaching the content whilst asking questions from the student to ensure that they learn it not by memorising it word for word, but by understanding it and applying it to many situations.
While making the lesson enjoyable and interesting, I always encourage students to aim for a higher grade, giving them the confidence and knowledge to do so. Helping them do exam questions and constantly giving feedback to improve their exam technique in the second part of the lesson would ensure this. When it comes to difficult problems, I support the student to tackle them step by step, instead of letting them give up, developing their critical thinking skills which are fundamental for learning many subjects.
The lessons will be for GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and any sciences for levels below that.
As I have done so myself, I can also provide advice on applying to competitive universities for engineering, maths and physics and how to prepare for their interviews.
