About Abina
Hi! I'm Abina, a Life Sciences student at McMaster University with a passion for teaching and helping students succeed!
Through my involvement with the Durham Youth Health Society, I've gained valuable experience supporting and mentoring young people. I understand that every student learns differently, so I focus on making Math and English fun, approachable, and easy to understand.
My goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions, overcoming challenges, and reaching their full potential!

Hi! I'm Abina, a Life Sciences student at McMaster University with a passion for education and helping students build confidence in their learning!
I offer personalized Math and English tutoring for elementary and high school students, adapting my teaching methods to each student's individual learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and stress-free!
My lessons typically begin with a quick review of previous material, followed by step-by-step explanations of new concepts, guided practice, and interactive activities to reinforce understanding. I also incorporate practice questions, real-life examples, and active recall techniques to help students retain information and feel prepared for tests and assignments.
What sets me apart is my patience, enthusiasm, and ability to break down challenging concepts into simple, manageable steps. As a university student myself, I understand how overwhelming academics can sometimes feel, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to develop their confidence, independence, and genuine enjoyment of learning!
