About Níosa

I am currently studying Biological and Geographical Sciences at Maynooth University, having achieved 545 points in my Leaving Certificate. As part of my degree, I study algebra and calculus at university level, which has strengthened my understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.

Mathematics plays an important role in science, and through my studies I use math regularly in a practical and applied context. This has given me a clear and logical approach to solving problems and explaining concepts in a straightforward way.

I am organized, patient, and professional in my approach to tutoring. I understand that many students can find Math challenging, and I aim to create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building their confidence.

My goal is to help students improve steadily, strengthen their foundations, and approach exams with greater clarity and confidence.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is patient, structured and focused on building strong foundations. As a Biological and Geographical Sciences student in Maynooth University, I currently study algebra and calculus as part of my degree, which has strengthened both my understanding and problem-solving skills in Mathematics.

Teaching Method & Techniques

I focus on helping students fully understand the “why” behind mathematical methods rather than simply memorising steps.

In lessons, I:

Break down topics into clear, manageable steps

Work through examples together before independent practice

Focus on common exam question types

Teach clear layout and method to maximise marks

Build confidence through consistent practice

I encourage students to ask questions and actively engage in solving problems during the lesson.

Typical Lesson Length

Lessons are typically 60 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged before exams or mock exams if required.

Qualifications & Experience

Completed the Leaving Certificate with a strong overall result (545 points)

Currently studying algebra and calculus at university level

Strong academic background in Mathematics as part of a science degree
