About Kai
I come from a background of strict parents and they especially wanted me to do good in Maths so I had a Maths tutor throughout primary and high school.
Knowing how important Maths is for Engineering I chose it to study at AUT.
I take my work seriously because I want the customer or whom I am working for to be satisfied so they won't feel like their time is wasted. Hence the jobs all went smoothly, but that doesn't mean I'm like a robot just ticking off a checklist (because that's boring).
I dislike teachers who talk in monotone and read everything off the slides/presentation. I believe teaching should be an interaction between the teacher and students, this way students can use their brain rather than just forcing information in.
As for teaching, my main priority is for the students to be engaged and gain understanding, so they can learn more efficiently (better for them and me).

Can't focus and learn in class because your Maths teacher is too boring?
I want to create an exciting teaching environment so that no matter how boring Maths can be, I can at least make it worthwhile.
1-2hrs per lesson (2hrs will have a break in between).
Previously a math tutor for younger children (ages 5 to 14).
Achieved excellence in NCEA calculus level 3, and currently studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering and have completed 3 Maths papers (levels 5, 6, & 7).
