About Bergen

Hi! My name is Bergen, and I have over 12 years of tutoring experience working with students in mathematics, statistics, ACT preparation, and related subjects. I have a background in psychology and statistics, which helps me understand not only how to teach material effectively, but also how different students learn and process information.

In addition to tutoring, I have professional experience working in analytics and data analysis, so I enjoy helping students connect classroom concepts to real-world applications. My teaching style is patient, supportive, and individualized. I believe every student learns differently, and I work hard to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities.

Outside of academics, I am also an athlete who plays women’s tackle football, which has taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience. I bring that same energy and encouragement into my lessons and genuinely enjoy helping students grow and succeed.

About the lesson

My math lessons are designed to focus on each student individually so I can better understand their strengths, struggles, and learning style. I require a minimum of one hour per session because it allows enough time to fully explain concepts, work through examples, and build confidence without students feeling rushed.

I prefer one-on-one lessons rather than group sessions because every student learns differently. During our sessions, I work closely with students to identify exactly where they are struggling and create a personalized approach to help them improve. Whether it is homework help, test preparation, building foundational skills, or advanced problem solving, my goal is to make math feel approachable and help students feel confident in their abilities.

What sets me apart is my combination of experience and real-world application. I have over 12 years of tutoring experience, a background in psychology and statistics, and professional experience working in analytics and data analysis. This allows me to not only teach students how to solve problems, but also help them understand why concepts work and how they apply outside the classroom. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing academically.
