About Neil Josen

I'm Neil, a university tutor who aims to provide students with the tools to learn challenging concepts in the way that best suits them. My teaching experience so far has opened my eyes to the diverse ways that each student can utilise to improve their learning outcomes and make sure that they retain all the necessary information when their final assessments come along. I am punctual, flexible and systematic when it comes to timing. I ensure that I instil transferable learning skills that will encourage independent study in the future.

About the lesson

I employ a personal and targeted learning approach where I help students grasp challenging concepts their way using analogies, diagrams, and mnemonic devices. Lessons can span from 1-3 hours, depending on if there are assessments to accomplish during the session. I have been a casual Assistant Teaching Fellow for Bond University since January 2021, teaching anatomy and physiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology subjects. I have received an Academic Staff Excellence Award from the Health Sciences and Medicine Student Association in 2022. My lessons might be more targeted for university students, especially those studying biomedical science degrees. However, I can also adjust my level of teaching to those at a high school or elementary school level.
