My teaching philosophy is anchored in Progressivism, a student-centered approach that views education as a process of active discovery. I believe that learning is most effective when it is experiential, democratic, and rooted in the real-world problems relevant to your life. Rather than simply delivering information, I act as a facilitator, guiding you to explore the English language through inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Teaching Methods and Techniques
Drawing from Progressivism, I utilize a Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, emphasizing interaction as both the means and the goal of study.
Active Inquiry: We won’t just memorize rules; we will investigate them. We’ll analyze why language works the way it does in context, allowing you to "learn by doing."
Scaffolding: I break down complex grammatical structures or literary concepts into manageable steps, gradually increasing difficulty as your confidence grows.
Differentiated Instruction: I tailor my materials to your specific learning style—whether you are a visual learner who benefits from infographics, an auditory learner who thrives on discussion, or a kinesthetic learner who needs interactive writing prompts.
Task-Based Learning: We focus on completing meaningful projects—such as drafting an professional email, analyzing a contemporary news article, or preparing a speech—rather than rote memorization.
