About Ambra
Hey there - my name is Ambra and I am 21 years old. I was very fortunate to have grown up in a very well-rounded and international education system. Growing up in Gstaad, Switzerland was a very unique experience for me, as school was integrated into everyday life. We were taught to incorporate what we learnt in the classroom into daily uses. During a maths lesson my teacher would take us outside to measure the gradient of the nearby mountain or we would study the sediment in river by our Geography classroom. Growing up with this form of education has led me to incorporate that into my personal style of tutoring. When I can, I like to incorporate everyday experiences as I have found it engages students (especially younger ones) and gives them a better chance in retaining the information given to them. I have had experience tutoring 8 to 13 year olds with their homework, in subjects ranging from Maths to English. I enjoy encouraging younger children to enjoy their schoolwork, as I believe liking what they study has an incredibly positive effect on their learning. I strive to be a conscientious teacher, who is disciplined and firm when is necessary, though who also infuses lessons with passion and fun! Ambra has helped two of my boys with their Math revision periodically over the last 4 years. They are currently 14 & 15 years old. She is a very bright, kind, and caring individual. The boys enjoy working through their math challenges with her and come away with a better understanding of it all.
